    The very first introduction
    It's a great honour to write the very first introduction in this group. This may attract others to introduce themselves ;-)

    If you look at my CV, you'll see that my life is determined by Perl ;-) A short list of things in my life that are related to Perl

    * my first Perl program in 2002 at my work for Sanofi-Aventis
    * my first German Perl-Workshop in 2004 (attended every workshop since then)
    * published my first CPAN module
    * my first conference outside of Europe in 2005 (OSDC::AU in Melbourne/Australia)
    * member of the organizing team of the German Perl-Workshop since 2005
    * my first YAPC::Europe in 2006 (attended every YAPC::EU since then)
    * published the first issue of $foo (the german Perl magazine - http://perl-magazin.de) in February 2007
    * launched http://perl-nachrichten.de in December 2007
    * my first patch for the Perl 5 source was accepted by the Perl 5 Porters in 2007
    * elected as a Grant Manager of the Perl-Foundation (http://perlfoundation.org) in December 2008

    So why I am in this group? Foswiki is written in Perl and I'm interested in software written in Perl. Another reason is, that we use an old version of TWiki on http://wiki.perl-community.de and we want to upgrade. Since Foswiki is a fork of TWiki we rather switch to Foswiki than upgrade to a newer version of TWiki.

    So why I am in this group? Foswiki is written in Perl and I'm interested in software written in Perl.     It's done... We had to move earlier than planned as we had to move the server. And we took the chance to switch from TWiki to Foswiki. This means great improvements as our old Wiki was a very ancient TWiki.

    Hi Rene, welcome to Foswiki@XING. Took a look at your installation. Looks a bit strange: all chars these special characters. Not sure if it is just my browser.

    No. Thanks for your reply. Seems that something went wrong. I just informed our Wiki Administrator. Hopefully it is fixed within the next few hours. On Saturday everything was fine.
