Hello all,
I am searching for a service provider to help me and my employer to set up a Wiki for elearning purposes.
So far I've been making myself confortable to the topic on wikimatrix.org and websites of different Wiki versions, e.g. foswiki, org.
Nevertheless there are some questions left since I am totally new to the topic.
In particular the Wiki software has to perform with at maximum 600 participants working with the Wiki at the same time. Furthermore the Wiki must contain a access control system concerning the whole Wiki, but also specific parts. This means that different groups have different rights for reading, editing, deleting etc. These rights don't have to be static but should be changeable by an administrator.
To ensure a proper communication and learning of the participants the Wiki has to have the following features: comments, chat or blog, attaching files, pasting pictures (perhaps videos), history of editing which enables an administrator to set back content to a former version.
Does it make sense to have a data base as a basis for a Wiki with the requirements described above? Or is it possible to realize such a Wiki based on files? What would you recon?
Does anybody know a German service provider which he would recommend for setting up a Wiki like that.
Does anybody have experiences with an already existing Wiki which is similar to the one I need.
Does FosWiki fulfill my requirements?
I am looking forward to your answers.
Kind regards
Matthias Durst
