Der folglich nächste Schritt ist die Erschließung von Gebäuden mit Glasfasern über FttX. In Europa und auch in Deutschland werden zur Zeit die ersten Gebiete mit dieser Technik erschlossen. In Deutschland sind die ersten Großstädte Köln und München.
