The First GLOBAL CONGRESS OF SPIRITUAL SCIENTISTS (GCSS) - A Report
By Dr. NEWTON KONDAVETI, M.D.
The recently concluded First GLOBAL CONGRESS OF SPIRITUAL SCIENTISTS was one of the most significant events in the run-up towards achieving the common vision of the Pyramid Spiritual Societies Movement and the Life Research Academy - “Spiritualize Planet Earth by 2012”. Behind such earthshaking events there are many synchronicities, guidance from both physical and non-physical masters, and meticulous planning & execution by hundreds of dedicated persons. As one of the persons behind the vision and implementation of the event, I am honoured to have been asked to present a small report on it. First, I would like to recognize that such a great event became possible mainly due to the untiring efforts of hundreds of dedicated persons who have worked ceaselessly and tirelessly to make the event a huge success.
The Birth of GCSS
One of the most important qualities of great masters is their perfect sense of timing. As they are very clear about what they want to do and are fully aware of the interconnectedness of all, they always wait for the exact time when the energies are properly aligned before taking up any important task. Brahmarshi Patriji, who set out two decades ago on a mission to see that every individual on earth becomes a Spiritual Scientist, sensed during the early part of 2008 that the timing was now right to bring together the masters of the world onto a common platform that would act as a catalyst for a chain reaction that would result in the Spiritualization of the entire planet by the year 2012. The platform would be called the Global Congress of Spiritual Scientists. Patriji gave the clarion call - “Masters of the World Unite”, and the stage was set for a grand event. The Maithreya Buddha Pyramid situated at the Pyramid Valley, Bangalore, which is the world’s largest pyramid built exclusively for meditation, was the unamimous choice for the venue. As for the dates, it was decided that the GCSS would run concurrently with the Ahimsa Dhyana Mahayganam from 25th December to 31st December 2008.
The arduous task of inviting masters from all over the world was the next step. The Life Research Academy Team - Dr. Lakshmi, Sridevi, Rajashekhar, and I immediately began contacting and interacting with the masters through email and phone calls. Over 150 masters were contacted and seven were finalized – Rev. Alex Orbito & Marika, Anodea Judith, Janet Attwood, Raymond Moody, Jasmuheen, and Michaela Adam-Horst. Working in parallel, Shreyans, Chandrashekhar, and the wonderful team of The Pyramid Spiritual Trust commenced the multiple tasks of preparing brochures, advertising, website, registrations, payments of appearance fee for the masters, travel arrangements of the masters, and the Herculean task of arranging accommodation meeting Global Standards for the masters and participants.
With barely one month left for the GCSS, terrorism cast its ugly shadow in India and raised concerns about cancellation of trips by the masters. However, the masters showed us that they were indeed true masters! At a time when the whole world was gripped with terror and even Non-resident Indians were avoiding travel to India, all the masters chose to honour their commitments to the event. Some of the masters wrote to us telling us that their presence was even more relevant in the given circumstances as they wanted, more than ever, to be here and spread the message of love and harmony in the world. I was deeply touched by this.
GCSS gets off to a wonderful start
As a forerunner to the actual commencement on the next day at Pyramid Valley, Patriji inaugurated the GCSS on the 25th December at the National College Grounds, Bangalore, amidst the powerful energy field of over 6000 meditators and the wonderful vibrations of the Christmas day. One could literally sense the second coming of Christ, as the consciousness was palpable. The occasion was graced by the presence of workshop presenters/speakers/guests of honour Anodea Judith, Janet Attwood, Paula Horan, Jean Pierre, Isabelle, Shri D. R. Karthikeyan, and Shri H. R. Nagendra. Patriji invited Shri Karthikeyan, Dr. Lakshmi and me to share the dais with him. Patriji, Shri Karthikeyan and Shri Nagendra expressed their happiness about the GCSS. I introduced the rest of the dignitaries on the dais and thanked them for having chosen to participate in the first GCSS.
26th December (Day 1)
On the morning of 26th December, the first GCSS was declared open by Patriji in the magnificent Maitreya Buddha Pyramid at the Pyramid Valley. The pyramid is aptly named the “Maitreya Buddha Dhyana Vidya Vishwalayam” which means “Maitreya Buddha World Temple of Meditation Wisdom. A pyramid is a powerful channel, concentrator and storehouse of cosmic energy. But above all, the pyramid symbolizes the eternal Self – with the base rooted firmly to the earth and the apex pointing to the skies. It shows us that going within is the only way to ascension. It was thus significant that the first GCSS, with its focus on achieving planetary harmony through individual ascension, was being held in the world’s largest pyramid built exclusively for meditation. Shri D. R. Karthikeyan, Rev. Alex Orbito, Marika, Anodea Judith, Janet Attwood, Michaela Adam-Horst, and I shared the dais with Patriji and all the dignitaries spoke about the significance of the GCSS and the important role that it would play in bringing about a shift in the consciousness of the planet. Patriji commended Shreyans Daga, Chandrashekhar, and his team for converting his dream into reality by bringing the Pyramid and the Pyramid valley into existence. This was followed by Patriji’s speech on “The Science of Meditation”, and it ended with a meditation session during which Patriji played the flute and rendered some Soul Stirring music. The inaugural session was ably hosted by Anuradha Ramesh.
The post-lunch session started with a panel discussion on “Children of the New Millennium – What kind of Parenting is required for the New-Age children?” The panelists Anodea Judith, Janet Attwood, Dr. Vijaya Venkat and Paula Horan discussed this important topic with me as the moderator. The future of the world is in the hands of our children. The way we parent our children will therefore determine the future of the world. Anodea Judith explained how certain chakras get activated at specific stages of the child’s growth. Understanding this can help us to focus more on the chakras that are relevant to the development stage of the child and can thus ensure better development of the child.
It is a universal law that we create our own reality through our thoughts. If our thoughts are aligned to the things we want, we can manifest them. The more clearly we specify what we want, the faster and more powerful will be the manifestation. “The Passion Test” by Janet Attwood, author of the New York Times bestseller of the same name, showed us how to find out what we are passionate about. These are the things that are the highest on our list of things that we want to manifest in our lives. This brings about tremendous clarity of thought regarding what we want most and this is the effortless path to manifesting them.
After the “The Passsion Test”, Prof. Dr. Jiten Bhat spoke about “Pyramid Power”. He explained about the archetypal energies that maintain the energy balance of the universe and are responsible for creation and sustenance of the Universe. From the perspective of our Earthly experience, they are the Mother-Earth Energy and Father-Sky Energy. Every human being is a hologram of the Universe. Within us, the Mother-Earth energy emanates from the Heart and the Father-Sky Energy emanates from the Mind. This was the last session before the dinner break. After dinner, we had a wonderful presentation by Dr. Gene Nelson on the “The Energetics of Spiritual Anatomy and Physiology – a research perspective”. He explained that we are made up of several subtle bodies apart from the physical body. He explained about ways to measure the activities of the energy bodies.
The opening day was very exciting and set the tone for the remaining days to follow.
27th December (Day 2)
The morning started with meditation and was followed by the first part of the workshop - “Waking the Global Heart” by Anodea Judith, the leading authority on the Chakra System with over 35 years of experience and research in the field. Her mastery on the subject of the chakras was unparalleled, and her video presentation – “The Illuminated Chakras” was simply mesmerizing.
The post-lunch session started with a panel discussion on “The Web of Illusions: Understanding the role of Illusion in Cosmic Reality”. Rev. Alex Orbito, Marika, Dr. Jayesh Shah, and Anuradha Ramesh comprised the panel, and I was the moderator. The views of all the panelists were similar, and they explained that anything that is perceived as an illusion in one frame of reality is very real in another. The most important thing is that illusion has a purpose. It helps us to remain focused within the frame of reality that we have chosen to operate in and also forces us to look for ways to go beyond it. In this way it motivates us to expand our awareness. As we continually expand our awareness, we will transcend all illusions and ultimately realize a state of oneness with All-That-Is. This is the state of Nirvana.
The panel discussion was followed by the second part of Anodea Judith’s wokshop - “Waking the Global Heart”. She continued with energizing exercises and meditations on the Chakras. Her message to the world is that we as a population need to evolve from the “Love of power to the Power of love”. Harmonizing our Chakras will help us to make this transition.
The last session for the day was conducted by me on my favorite subject – “Past-life-regression”. I first gave a short presentation on Reincarnation and Law of Karma. I then explained how we carry the imprints from our past-lives in our subconscious minds and how this influences the present life. This was followed by a group past-life-regression session. Many participants were able to see their past-lives and they could understand how their past-lives were affecting the present one. Understanding and integrating the past-life memories can heal negative situations and orchestrate positive outcomes by bringing back the talents and skills from our past-lives. Understanding our past helps us to remain focused in the present with expanded awareness, thereby ensuring a great future.
By the end of the second day, the participants began to get really tuned in to the GCSS.
28th December (Day 3)
The day started off with an amazing guided meditation session conducted by Jasmuheen. The much awaited workshop “How to Heal Yourself”, by the world renowned spiritual healer Rev. Alex Orbito was next. Patriji took time off from his busy schedule at the Ahimsa Dhyana Maha Yagnam to welcome Rev. Alex Orbito and Marika to the GCSS and present them to the participants. Marika was a co-presenter in the workshop. Shri Karthikayan spoke about how he himself had not believed in psychic surgery until he directly witnessed it. On my request, a few people who (earlier on) had profound healing experiences with Rev. Alex Orbito came forward and shared their experiences with the workshop participants. From then on Rev. Alex Orbito took over – or maybe I should say the eternally blissful, unconditionally loving, innocent child in Alex took over! For the whole day, he had the participants in raptures. He narrated his life story which was full of anecdotes and brought forth the full range of emotional responses from the participants – laughter, tears of joy and tears of sadness, love, and compassion. He taught some self-healing techniques and also techniques to make ourselves more beautiful. He emphasized that the first step towards healing is to begin to love ourselves immensely. His workshop proved that heart-to-heart communication transcends the limitations of language and culture.
Between the morning and afternoon sessions of Alex Orbito’s workshop, we had a panel discussion on “War, Terrorism and Conflict – Are we responsible? How can we help?” The panel comprised D. R. Karthikeyan, Jasmuheen, Dr. Sudha Koduri, and Isabelle. Rajashekhar was the moderator. Everyone agreed that what we are experiencing in the world is totally our own creation. The message that came through was: To bring about Global peace and Harmony, we all need to find our inner harmony. Once this is done, it will automatically reflect in our environment. All over the world there is a great shift towards inner peace and harmony. It might seem paradoxical that in spite of this positive change, there is lot of disharmony in the world today. However, we must understand that the present disharmony is the result of our past thinking and feelings. Our present thinking and feelings will transform our future!
The last program of the day was a presentation on “Transformation Management” by Jean-Pierre Laurent, a highly placed corporate executive who is currently the CEO of the European operations of the automotive giant Renault. He explained, and demonstrated through practical exercises, how to correct energy imbalances in the body and also apply this practice in organizations to achieve high levels of harmony, productivity and efficiency.
At the end of the third day, the conference was half-way through and the participants got caught up with the spirit of the GCSS.
29th December (Day 4)
Once again the morning started with a wonderful meditation session under the guidance of Jasmuheen. If there were to be a Hall of Fame for Spiritual Scientists, Dr. Raymond Moody would definitely figure in it. His phenomenal research spanning four decades has unraveled the mysteries surrounding the all important question - “what happens when we die?” His workshop entitled “On Matters of Life and Death” was a veritable treat to every spiritual scientist present. He is a perfect example of a person who has a scientific approach while at the same time being open minded about phenomena that cannot be explained by current scientific understanding. Participants were overawed by his phenomenal wisdom, photographic memory, simplicity, honesty, and modesty. Patriji himself came before the commencement of the workshop to pay his respects to the great master and declared that out of the fifty thousand books on spirituality that he had read, “Life After Life”, by Dr. Raymond Moody was one of the few literally “earthshaking” books! The workshop flowed freely like a gentle river, and we just could not feel the passage of time except during the intrusion of the lunch break.
The panel discussion for the day was “Living in harmony with the Animal Kingdom, Plant Kingdom and Mineral Kingdom – Is there a perceptible shift towards Vegetarianism?” The panel was moderated by Dr. Lakshmi, and the panelists were Jasmuheen, Anodea Judith, …………. The panelists explained that a vegetarian diet, apart from being the natural humane choice, is good for the health, emotions and mind of the people. Rearing animals for food leads to an increase in greenhouse gases and also to deforestation. At the heart of vegetarianism is compassion and respect for all life. It was concluded that if the world moves towards vegetarianism, it would solve the problem of global warming and deforestation. Vegetarianism would therefore benefit the individual, society, and our environment.
The last session of the day was a repeat of the Past-life-regression session that I did on the 27th. Several participants reported amazing experiences. After the regression session, Michaela Adam-Horst demonstrated channeling and channeled a South African spirit guide who happens to be the spirit guide of Nelson Mandela! After that we had a wonderful guitar performance by Arun Jain and a vocal recital by Sadhana Gangan, both of whom were participants.
By the end of the fourth day, the participants reached a state of totally positive vibrations and high energy.
30th December (Day 5)
The morning of the penultimate day started with a sitar recital by Sanjay Kinge. After that we had a meditation session and exercise by Paula Horan on ”Inner Smile”. Jasmuheen, who had already made a great impression on the participants with her wonderful guided meditations, was the star of the day. A truly multidimensional personality, she is a gifted medium, an exponent of “Living on Prana”, an ambassador of light with a mission to spread the light to all parts of the globe, a vegetarian by choice since the age of two, and the author of 26 books on various spiritual topics. Her workshop “The Prana Program and The Food of Gods” was a transcendental experience. The participants were enthralled by her wisdom, grace, love, compassion and her manner of doing everything without appearing to make any effort. The highlights of her sessions were the prana meditations, her 8-point recipe for global harmony, and the five pathways. She asked everyone to work on a time-bound program to start living on prana (the cosmic energy that pervades the whole universe). The important thing is to make the next step towards this goal. For example a non-vegetarian can take the first step by becoming a vegetarian, a vegetarian can take the next step by becoming a vegan, a vegan can turn to eating raw food, one who eats raw food can become a fruitarian, a fruitarian can become a breatharian, and a breatharian can eventually start living on prana. I think we can apply this advice to all walks of life. Normally, we are overwhelmed by the distance we have to walk, and therefore hesitate to take even one step. However, if we take one step at a time, even the greatest distance can be covered. A Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step!
The Panel discussion for the day was “2012 - Is it a new beginning?” The panelists were Joske, Anna John, Jean-Pierre, ……… I was the moderator. The panelists spoke about the wonderful changes that are taking place in the world. They felt that we may see many upheavals in the next few years. However, they were quick to dismiss fears propagated by some people that 2012 would see the end of the world. They said that this was feared in 1999 as well but it did not happen because of the elevation of the consciousness that occurred by that time and averted the seemingly imminent reality. The panelists concluded that by 2012 a new era of peace and harmony would begin.
After the dinner break, we had two interesting programs. The first was a presentation by Dr. N. P. Shanker Narayan on “The Science and Spirituality of Meditation and Herbs for Holistic Health”. He explained the benefits of meditation and how it improves health. He also explained the role of herbs in holistic medicine and how they improve health. The next was a presentation-cum practical session by Dr. V. Harikumar, on “Anti-ageing, Become young, beautiful, and blissful through Holodynamic Breathwork”. Holodynamic Breathwork uses conscious connected breaths to cleanse the body of toxins, stress and buried trauma.
At the end of the fifth day, many participants had the feeling of floating on air, and it took quite some time for them to feel grounded again!
31st December (Final Day)
The final day had a fully packed agenda which began with “The Passion Test” (second part), by Janet Attwood. She began where she left on the first day and went on to explain a wonderful process originated by Byron Katie to come out of both self-inflicted and self-propagated suffering.
The next program was the workshop “Holistic Leadership and Healing” by Michaela Adam-Horst. She is a gifted healer and medium and has worked on natural healing methods for over 20 years. In the first part of her workshop, she showed us how to use holistic understanding at the workplace. During the second part of her workshop she demonstrated her own style of healing called Mijo healing. She then taught participants the basics of energy healing systems and guided them in practical sessions wherein they were able to perceive energy, balance the chakras, and channelize energy to the affected parts of the body to bring about healing. It was evident that she was exceptionally gifted and she made it all look so easy. This emboldened the participants who simply followed her instructions with faith and many of them had amazing experiences.
Jasmuheen, Michaela Adam-Horst, Janet Attwood, Raymond Moody, and Prem Nirmal took part in the final panel discussion of the conference. The topic was “Spiritual Leadership and its Application in all Walks of Life”. The discussion brought out many aspects of what is required to become a spiritual leader.
The final day was the appropriate time to recognize all those who were responsible for the creation of the Pyramid Valley. In the afternoon, Chandrashekar, Secretary of the Pyramid Trust, gave an inspiring presentation highlighting the major milestones in the construction of the Pyramid and the creation of the remaining facilities at Pyramid Valley. Shreyans Daga, Vice-chairman of the Pyramid Trust, and I. V. Reddy, Managing Trustee spoke briefly about the concept and implementation of the Pyramid Valley Project.
In the evening, Patriji insisted on recognizing all the volunteers who worked for the GCSS. The grand success of the GCSS was a result of some fantastic team work. All the volunteers of Life Research Academy as well as Pyramid Trust woked together as a single Team. Three cheers to Chandrashekhar, Shreyans & The Pyramid Trust team for their magnificent organizational effort, the Volunteers from PYMA, Volunteers of Life Research Academy including Rajashekhar who did a commendable job as Program Coordinator, and all others who worked directly or indirectly for the First GCSS! Patriji announced that the next GCSS would be held in October 2009 and requested Jasmuheen to be the President for the GCSS. She graciously accepted this responsibility. The participants have already started looking forward to the Second GCSS!
After dinner on the final day, the participants welcomed the New Year in style with a campfire near the dining hall followed by music and dance at inside the Pyramid – a fitting finale to a grand event.
The First GCSS – a unique event
The first GCSS was a unique event the like of which has never before been attempted anywhere in the world. It is the new platform created for the convergence of all spiritual masters who wish to see their wisdom reach out to the entire planet. Ultimately, the best feedback about the event can come from the participants and the masters. Most of the participants I interacted with were thrilled by the entire experience and said that they now feel a new kind on energy and joy inside them. They all felt that the GCSS experience would bring about positive transformation in their lives. On a larger scale, the GCSS is the first step in a chain reaction that would span the Globe and result in the spiritualization of the planet by the year 2012.
The message from the first GCSS to the world is “Spirituality is the new way of life – Do not hide your Spirituality – Be who you truly are”. To ensure that each of you participate in the transformation of the planet, just follow this simple step –“each one tell one.” What this means is that you should tell one new person everyday about what spirituality means to you and how it has transformed your life. Just tell it and your job is done. Leave the rest to the Universe!
Till we meet again, Goodbye!
