    mal was zur wirtschaft.

    es dürfte kaum bekannt sein, dass der chef von fiat ein kanadier ist. Er immigrierte mit 14 nach kanada. Sergio Marchionne - sieh google.

    der zweite ist Frank Stronach, immigrant aus österreiche.
    Stronach hatte in den letzten jahren mehr in den pferde-rennsport in den USA investiert - nicht mit besonderem erfolg.

    mal sehen, wer von den beiden "kanadiern" den zuschlag erhält.

    und ist da nicht wieder unser Schröder drin verwickelt - OAO Gaz? Die russen als finanziers - funny.

    Canadian auto parts magnate Frank Stronach, vying to play a key role in the redrawing of the European automotive map, is pitting his Magna International Inc. [MG.A-T] against Fiat SpA chief Sergio Marchionne's sprawling ambition.

    Mr. Stronach said in an interview Monday that he met with senior German politicians last week to advance Magna's bid for a piece of Adam Opel AG, the main European manufacturing arm of General Motors Corp. that is seeking an investment of several billion dollars to stay afloat.

    “They have an interest, they know we are one of the major suppliers, they know we make cars and thereby they'd like to see the best solution for Germany,” Mr. Stronach told The Globe and Mail.

    A Magna bid would compete with Mr. Marchionne's plan to buy Opel and combine it with Chrysler LLC and Fiat's own automotive operations to create a global powerhouse cranking out about five million cars a year. That would rank it among the top five in the world.

    Magna is not seeking a controlling stake in Opel, he said. It is acting with partners that Mr. Stronach would not identify, but sources have said they include a Russian bank and [color=#FF0000]OAO Gaz[/color], a Russian car maker.

    ... so der eine Kanadier ist aus dem Rennen.

    Der Vorschlag von Fiat war weder für Opel noch GM akzeptabel.
    Oder, war das nur ein Scheinangebot - denn plötzlich war man sich
    mit Chrysler einig.

    Jedenfalls ist das Rennen um Opel zwischen Magna und RJH jetzt Kopf an Kopf.
    Mal schauen wer den Zuschlag (Ende September 09) erhält.
