In many German and international enterprises single employees or whole departments which are named „ Business Development- or Business Creation or NewBusiness exist representatives which are responsible for the generation of new business or the removal and the advancement of scopes of business. This task requires comprehensive knowledge about the laws of the market, the marketing, the distribution as well as distinctive understanding for the enterprise purpose, the products, the production processes and not least a feel for trends and current business. A business segment developer must develop own purpose images and develop the enterprise in the direction of these purposes. This requires a purposeful control and orchestration of all enterprise areas as well as the employees working in the organisation. Moreover radical knowledge about existing change effects / mechanisms is indispensable in the enterprise and in the market. Without rules, check lists and methods, responsible persons may lose the overview and afterwards the control. Also a too comprehensive approach to the subject „Business segment development“ can lead to “loosing scope and focus and control ”. In these cases no suitable measures can be also seized without unequivocal purpose definitions and setting priorities naturally. Hence, business developers do well to structure their action conscientiously. The application of methods makes business segment developer look at attempts analytically and document her action. This makes again the work and the decisions of the business segment developers for outsiders as well as superiors clear and understandable.
