    Something about Neeraj Mittra...

    "When you are born in an artistic ambience sound of music, poetry, smell of fresh paints, touch of brushes are bound to tingle your senses. Creativity was hence a natural affinity.

    Vast open fields of Karnal (Haryana) opened more vistas and better understanding of nature, but to mingle inherent talent with formal education, one needs to cast away the protective shell and move beyond & so Neeraj Mittra moved to Delhi in 1987.

    After completing post graduation (M.F.A.) in sculpture from College of Art, New Delhi, he has been creating and experimenting in various mediums. Sculptures in fiber glass, terracotta, metal, murals wood and metal, drawings & paintings in dry pastels, charcoals mix-medias, acrylics, oils..10 solo shows paintings and sculpture. Numerous group participations, camps and workshops bear ample testimony to his active involvement. Crude clay modeling to mix media ,to oil painting to murals, all make me crave for more deeper dives into that subtle calm of artistic realm. The feel of the material that he is working with is the genesis of the umbilical chord that ties the creation to the creator.

    His creations are inspired from those forces of nature, which tingle his senses, the wind, its swiftness, its floating and gliding quality its might .there is so much around, to be understood. A versatile artist with a burning passion to scale new heights & fathom unexplored depths each day, to churn out intangible extraordinary from the tangible ordinary and to defy the restricting parameters to soar into the unknown arenas and merge impossible with possible is how his professional ambitions can best be described."
