Homer called it "liquid gold." In ancient Greece, athletes ritually rubbed it all over their body. Olive oil has been
more than mere food to the peoples of the Mediterranean: it has been medicinal, magical, an endless source of fascination and wonder and the fountain of great wealth and power. Besides food, olive oil has been used for rituals, medicines, as a fuel in oil lamps, soap-making, and skin care application.



"Olive Oil World" will be the crossroad of olive oil lovers and who grows olive trees, produces olive oil
and trades related products. Over 750 million olive trees are cultivated worldwide, 95% of which are in the Mediterranean region. Most of global production comes from Southern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

We'll be exchanging our experiences, find new business partners, develop new projects and expand
our network within this group. Since olive oil demand is increasing every year and health awareness
catalyzes the Mediterranean Diet and olive oil consumption, this group will function to increase
interaction between the members of olive oil community of XING..
