Lufthansa Technik to attend Labour Court
Management at Lufthansa Technik in Co Dublin has agreed to attend talks at the Labour Court on proposed changes by it in work practices.

The court is now to hold a hearing on the matter next Thursday.

Union members at the Baldonnel aircraft maintenance plant this week rejected the cut cutting plans.

The company has warned that the future of the operation, which employs 475 people on aircraft engine maintenance, is in doubt unless its proposals are accepted. SIPTU official Teresa Hannick said last night that unions would do their utmost to preserve competitiveness at the plant, while also defending their members' interests. Management at Baldonnel yesterday held an emergency telephone conference on the situation with headquarters staff in Hamburg of the company's parent Lufthansa.
