    I wrote "commodities broker" and BableFish translated it as "Rohstoffmakler". The word was not in my High School German textbook either.

    In America a Stock Broker and Commodities Broker are separate licenses and separate businesses.

    What I need are introductions to Swiss Bankers who can clear trades on the New York (crude oil, gold) and Chicago (wheat, soybeans, currencies) markets.

    My idea is that Europeans would like to open accounts in Europe with Euros, and not open an account in Chicago with dollars.

    Am I wrong?

    Why Swiss? Because of Swiss Banking Privacy Laws. I am assuming that some customers will want that.

    Maybe I am wrong.

    Why in Euros and not just Dollars?

    I'm just trying to think ahead. I am thinking that if a European is approached about opening an account they would want it to be in Europe and denominated in Euros.

    In America, if you open an account, you assume it is in America and in Dollars.

    But what I am hearing from you, is that my thinking may be wrong. So I am glad you are speaking up about this. I am learning.
