Several years ago the world was shocked when it discovered that some California wines could hold their own if not surpass wines from France, Spain and Germany.
Now I represent a small winery in the state of Ohio, and they offer a most unique product - a pinot noir which actually uses coffee beans during the fermentation process....infusing the wine with a coffee flavor and smell.
I've been experimenting with a niche market - go to
http://www.goreanwines.com for more information - or call 440-293-8199 and ask for "Master's wine". The price has been reduced but has yet to be reflected at the time of this writing on the website.
My question for the group is this, what makes one wine from the US stand out and others' not? Can you think of anything that "made you take notice" when drinking a American wine?
