Gunnar - thanks for this piece of info..
as far as i know the public folder in Exchange are going to be skiped by MS with one of the next Versions of Exchange.
(Planned was to skip them in version 2007:-)
Would you have any quick links to research this?
Instead of this Sharepoint Meetings Rooms, Document Libraries should be used. Think were is no extra solution nessary to cover all this.
Do you mean an inbuilt solution exists on in SP for Meeting Room management? And by Document Library do you refer to DMS functionality?
All this could be solved with MOSS and customizing.
This is definitely worth investigating. Thanks.

Steffen,
Thanks for the basic checks...

best way for that. Also for multiple ressource/facility management in this constellation: not sharepoint, but Exchange2007/Outlook2007. What is the start point?
Starting point is a very MS-affine IT environment, although a number of overtures are being made to break away dependence on the M$ platform. It's one of the problems we have with the Exchange approach, because we don't know if it will be the mail-system of the future at this very globally distributed organization (plans to move into the Gmail/Cloud).
Do you want implement MOSS, MOSS is must have?
MOSS is already being used for some sales workflows like quotation management, and technical document management. So it won't be a problem to get MOSS deployed if necessary. But I don't see at this point how the Office Suite dependency comes in. Wouldn't WSS be sufficient (if at all SP is used)?
When not, and you have an actually MS active directory in this environment, use Exchange2007/Outlook2007. Of course you than also can administrate multiple locations. It is an basic function of this product. With sharepoint only by using 3rd party tools. Why you want to do this...
Why we are considering Sharepoint is because of useful tools that have already been deployed on the SP platform in this organization. Aside of the DMS and sales functions mentioned above, there is a product configuration application which enables tech-sales people globally to use a single set of technical data to prepare product offers for customers.
So the level of confidence in SP in the organization as a useful platform is high.
Thanks again..

Hi,
I don't provide standard Ressource management plug-ins for SharePoint. For such scenarios I build a custom solution with Nintex Workflow and Sharepoint, so you have the most flexibility in the solution. But this will only the best solution if a standard solution don't hit your requierements.
Cheers,
Andreas

guten Abend,

Hi Ashant,
if you need to use SharePoint, the count of concurrent Users are a matter of HW Size.
The Solution can be developed with Nintex Workflow and some other third Party Tools
to get a nice and use able/user friendly handling.
Cheers,
Lars

Hi Ashant,
sorry for my silence at first. I layed down really sick, really to sick having time and power for my PC ;-)
Ok, your question sounds interessting. In our Sharepoint solution we have something like this for our Trainees. Traineeroomscheduling, time scheduling for Trainings and trainees and such things. But it is more like a workaround realized with lists, discussion boards and alerts. It works and I think witth some programming work on new webparts it could become better and more a solution.
Also I realized our teammeetingscheduling with a meeting template for a page.
But such things like request technical equipment I think could be best realized with a customized formular webpart.
But also I think, getting a quick solution, the exchange/outlook solution is pretty good.
regards Katja

I Aree with Lars,
with 500 users a sharpoit kalender can cet out of scope.
Sharepoint Lists with more then 2000 items might make problems.
