Gruppen-Newsletter: More than just a get together - 2 July
On Thursday 2 July the NRW Round Table took place in the Restaurant "La India" in Erfstadt Köttingen.

And I must say: all who didn´t come really have missed something. The owner Baljinder Hira hired two cooks from the TajGroupHotels in India. The food served was excellently cooked and many little "new" specialities like "Ruccola Pakoras" and Ginger Chutney were introduced to us. The Dal-Dish, usually for me the "test-dish" of good indian cooking was so exquisite, that it was for surely cooked in traditional style, slowly many hours of simmering, and not as it is the habit nowadays in the pressure cooker. I could go on describing what all impressed me but I don´t want to bore the reader. Nothing compares to going there and finding out for yourself, I´m sure you´ll love it and make it your "Stamm-Indian-Restaurant" .

On this occasion Günter Wiskot presented his book "Götter, Handy und Geschäfte". It is marvellous how he managed to write down on only 270 pages the most important background information for doing business in India. The size of the book is nevertheless such, that you can keep it in you pocket. You can order the book under ISBN 978-3-88190-459-9 for 18,95 Euro

Another recomendation comes from me: The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and the DGB-Bildungswerk have published a very informative "Länderporträt Indien" dealing mainly with the present economic situation of India, possibilities and challenges and also the role of Trade Unions in India. Written by two Professors of Political Science, the publication is a good information for all who start thinking about establishing business connections in India on appr. 70 pages,
You can order the Länderporträt Indien at "nord-sued-netz@dgb-bildungswerk.de" for 3,50 incl. Porto.

Wishing you a nice summer vacation
