N5M film to be shot in Gontor, London
The production of a film version of bestseller Negeri 5 Menara (N5M or the land of 5 towers) is scheduled to commence shooting in Ponorogo and Gontor Islamic School in East Java next month.

The shoot for the feature will then move to Bandung, producer Million Pictures says.

The film will also include several scenes in Bukit Tinggi and Maninjau in West Sumatra, and London in the UK.

During a press conference on Wednesday, producer Salman Aristo said preparations for the N5M production had been running well. He noted that his team had appointed Affandi Abdul Rachman as the film director, Roy Rolang as a team member and Ikang Fauzi as an actor for the film.

"We hope this strong team can make N5M the movie a masterpiece that we can be proud of and can serve as inspiration for Indonesia," executive producer Indra Yudhistira said.

N5M tells the story of six children studying at an Islamic boarding school, and struggling to reach their dreams.

Ikang Fauzi has been chosen to play Kiai Rais, the leader of Madani Islamic school where the six children study.

Ahmad Fuadi, the author of N5M, said around 200,000 copies of his novel had been sold over the past two years.

He added that the movie version of his book would be aired in cinemas in February next year.
