    Need help to get deeper information about Wayang Kulit
    Hello,

    im running a german website about Indonesia. At the moment i want to write an article about the wayang kulit.

    I found already much basic infos, but i still need more information about certain aspects of this topic, because I want to provide more than wikipedia, otherwise this work wouldn´t make much sense.

    A book told me about 22 styles of ornaments, which are used to paint wayang figures. What are this 22 styles, how do they look like and how are they called?
    Another question would be about the connection between wayang and politics. I already know about the connection between the figures of Arjuno, Bima and Gatotkaca to Sukarno or Semar to Suharto, but I like to know more about, how wayang was used to promote propaganda.
    Also it would be interesting to know, if dalangs who did propaganda for the PKI suffered after and during the coup of Suharto and also if dalangs of the 80´s and 90´s jsut were a mouthpiece of the regime Suharto or also a opposition and a critical part of the society.

    Thanks for any infos and also for advices which other aspects could also be interesting.
    For now, I planned to include this:

    Basic Overview about wayang Kulit (incl. history)
    Forms of Wayang (including other forms than wayang kulit)
    Making of Wayang puppets
    General Characteristics of Wayang Figures (good, bad, women, animals)
    The main stories from Mahabharata and Ramayana
    Schooling and duties of a Dalang
    The music of Gamelan in Wayang Kulit
    A description how a typical Wayang Kulit performance looks like, incl. description of symbolism
    Important Characters in the Wayang kulit (incl. Pictiures and description)
    Connection of wayang and politics

    Of course, i could buy books about all of this, but well.. i just don´t have that much money. This is just a hobby of mine. I tried books.google.de but mostly the information im searching for is excluded from the previews. Most books don´t even have previews.

    Habe nun den ersten Teil veröffentlicht
    Hallo,

    ich habe lange Zeit gebraucht aber nun steht der gesamte Artikel. Leider kam mir immer wieder etwas dazwischen und so verzögerte sich alles um Wochen.

    Nach einer Restrukturierung der Website (war aufgrund des CMS recht anstrengend) habe ich nun die ersten beiden Kapitel zum Wayang Kulit veröffentlicht.
