  We found once more the divide between East and West very prominent again this year at Index.
  
  The Chinese market has now picked up quite dramatically in the finishing and quality of their product, whereas the western furniture the finishing in some cases was very bad.
  
  Another problem!!! Chinese furniture is being imported then exported with the label `From Italy` From the UAE` etc it is worthwhile checking the origin of manufacture!!!
  
  There is nothing wrong with using the Chinese furniture, it is very good value for money, and with the ever tightening of purse strings it can be the difference between being given a contract or not.
  
  How did everyone else find Index this year?
