We are seeking for our international client a: Chief Patent Officer
ASSIGNMENT DESCRIPTON:
You will be responsible for a wide patent and intellectual property portfolio. Your role will be to work with both business & technology management to assure that Intellectual Property Rights (IPR – including patents & copyrights) being obtained have a high degree of relevance to providing the organisation with a sustainable competitive advantage in equipment and plant sales and servicing.
You will:
• Participate in the development and implementation of IPR strategies
• Develop recommendations and inform management teams pro-actively in the IPR field in order to increase the organization’s ability to anticipate and mitigate risk as well as strengthening the business
• Manage a strong IPR portfolio by the reinforcement of IPR management guidelines creating freedom to operate with respect to third party IPR
• Monitor competitors’ offerings and patent applications to identify potential infringements in order to ensure the organization a pro-active way of resolving potential IPR related issues
• Manage directly a team (Patent Attorneys and filing section) and be responsible for their development ensuring the organization with highly motivated and talented professionals
ABOUT YOU - YOU HAVE:
• a (University) Degree in a relevant discipline e.g. Engineering or Law
• a license from the European Patent Office
• at least 5 years of experience in IP law and practice, including patents, trade secrets, and copyrights
• an excellent knowledge of the European patent practice
• a proven track record of strategic IPR implementation in large multinational organizations
• team management experience
• excellent language skills in English (additional languages are a advantage)
