Can my European colleagues tell me if the London Agreement coming into force has affected which languages applicants choose to file their European applications in (for cases originating in Europe)?
It seems, for example that a French client may be better off filing in English in Europe if he eventually plans to file a related application in the U.S. Then, protection in large portions of Europe and in the U.S. can be obtained without the expense of translating the whole application into a foreign language. (But then, I have a U.S. and an English-language bias.)
Thanks,
AJV

A large part of our clients files a first application in Germany in German and then naturally enters the PCT or EP in German language. For first filings EP English seems to have advantages.
