I am Ghanaian Computer Science student currently in my third year. I recently attended a symposium in Switzerland where I met and made new friends from around the globe.
From my visit I realised that there is a whole different world out there from what I knew in Ghana. I decided to create this forum so that any one can share his/her views because sharing is wealth and there is no limit to knowledge. And to bring together a team of members who are interested in pushing the IT sector in Africa to Par with the rest of the world.

Someone asked me how we can move the African IT landscape forward. And I think is a question that must go to each and everyone of us here who is in this group or reads an article here. This because we are here for one purpose and that is to do business in Africa and also look out for the IT well being of Africa.
Hence I will like to ask, " What are some of the ways that can help improve the IT industry in Africa?"
This is in connection to the previous board "The Way Forward"

Because I have internet access in my institution and also spent most of my time here, I did not uncover this phenomena until recently.
A couple of weeks ago, I went home due illness. I went out to the internet cafes I surf when I'm in town and discovered that 3 out of 5 were closed. I assumed that probably the competition was getting tougher for the owners.
A week later I was in the city centre and I saw that other internet cafes were closed. And also the number of internet cafes that used to be in town has reduced. Usually when a new technolgy is discovered, it improves and the amount of usage increases. I'm yet to go into uncovering why this turn of events. Open to suggestions.
This is based on some parts of the capital of Ghana (Accra). I was wondering if its the same in some other parts of Africa and the world too.
