Hello fellow members. In this group we will discuss and try to promote the advancement of the IT industry in Africa.
My company, Funding Coalition, is a Strategic Advisor to organizations and individuals that are trying to get a company started or a product launched. We engage in M&A, JVs, and assisting with a match to investors when required. The economy has been brutal for many months now and most of the people involved with the financial industry are waiting to see what the new rules will be from the Obama Administration in the USA.
Africa was not doing that well before the financial mess so it will likely suffer under the stress.
Communications in Africa is not reliable because there are so many areas where they do not yet have electricity.
Many people that I work with are reluctant to invest in Africa because they are unable to provide security.
The best thing for Africa would be to stop the corruption and wars, do something about the pirates of Somalia, and above all we need to get the people educated. The people in the major cities are doing much better than many of the rural communities. We will be facing major water issues.
So we have our work cut out for us.
Let us use this XING group to connect all the people of the world that want to help Africa.
