IT and socio-economic development in Africa
    hello everybody

i am partner in a telecoms centric management and business consultancy. in fact i am a co-founder. we work, currently bound to subsaharan africa, on ict ikt projects with clear socio-economic impact potential. further we are involved in ict/ikt policymaking, broadband governmental/municipal rollouts, development of entrepreneurial opportunities and else - mostly from a governmental perspective.

to ensure we don't loose contact with the real world we regularly probe into markets to hone and polish our own entrepreneurial skills. its easier to lead by example.

i am in south africa since 6.5 years, the first 3.5 years in cape town, since then in KwaZulu-natal.

we usually predict socio-economic impact of governmental ict / ikt interventions quite conservative, and happily follow our own suggestions through eg project management.

and i like shooting, walking/hiking, hunting (walk & stalk), and try every now and then golf
    and cooking...

so yeah - thats me/us. my expectations as to this forum aren't quite clear because thats the first time i really check in. and a little looksee didn't really reveal anything as to what a forum with the nice german expression for ICT is about (IKT). maybe the moderators could enlighten me a little ?

    cheers
