  Dear ITS-Group Members,
  
  I'd like, shortly, to introduce myself and my law firm in Brazil.
  
  I'm graduated in Law in Brazil (UFMG) with focus in Brazilian Tax Law, took a Master Course in Munich (LMU) and i'm finishing my Doctorate in Vienna (WU), both in International Tax Law.
  
  My professional life is centered on International, Brazilian and German Tax Law, which led to my present position in the Law Firm Araujo & Policastro in São Paulo, Brazil, one of Latin America's 35 leading business law firms in 2008, ranked by Latin Lawyer Magazine.
  
  The new pearl of the office is the German Desk, outcome of the incorporation of Rothmann Law Firm, headed by Professor Dr. Gerd Willi Rothmann. The German Desk has the major role of providing personal business advisory to German companies with commercial affairs in Brazil or vice versa.
  
  The Tax Practice Group of the German Desk advises its individual, corporate and institutional clients in regard to tax planning for numerous types of transactions, including sales and acquisitions of companies, mergers, import/export operations, off-shore investments and various commercial appliances within Brazil.
  
  The Tax Practice is well-versed on the laws and regulations of different tax jurisdictions, as well as on the various international tax treaties that govern many cross-border transactions. Regarding the non-existence of a German-Brazilian Tax Treaty, our German Desk offers original and intelligent solutions for business between coligates or non-coligates companies residents of both countries.
