In spite of economical turmoil environment in Europe, 72 Italian Companies, coming to Izmir on 20 November’08; will search for co-operation and 16 Companies will sound out on investments. If the suitable bases could be build up, they will make decisions on investment in Metal Industry ahead...
The Chairman of Italian Chamber of Commerce in İzmir Rebii Akdurak has told that businessmen from Emilia Romagna region are coming to make meetings with about 100 Izmir’s Company representatives.
Till now 32 diffrenet companies have applied for bilateral meetings and this number is expected to reach 100. The end date for this application is October the 10 th. Mr. Akdurak has warned that Izmir companies should behave more “aggressive” and “contributive” like Istanbul’s companies.
Beside metal industry, Italian companies are also interested in
- cheese,
- meat and meat products,
- fruit & vegetable processing machinery,
- bio-mass purification engineering,
- wate ovens and energy recycling,
- oil pumps production,
- heating & cooling products,
- medical modules installation,
- agricultural product protectives,
- pipes,
- concrete production machinery
- electrical motors.
While the part of companies are searching for Turkish producers, others interested in finding distribution channels... and most of them already have important international dealing experience
The trade volume between Italy and Turkiye in 2007 has made 17,5 billion usd, and is being expected to reach 20 billion by the end of 2008. The first half of 2008 made 12,6 billions. The figs and grape are iportant items of these trade volumes

Different companies from Italy's 2nd biggest industrial zone Emilia Romagna met with 44 Aegean companies and expressed their willings to exist in Turkish Market.
Italian Committee leaded by Emilia Romagna's Government Representative Gianluca Baldoni, searched the areas to collaborate with local Turkish companies. Mr. Baldoni told that Izmir was got known through EXPO 2015 in Italy and meetings of Turkish and Italians Premier-Ministers helped this as well.
THEY LOOK FOR PARTNERS
Italian businessmen see Turkiye as a dinamic market and want to enter it, some of them are searching partners to start production in Turkiye. Baldoni said: "Turkiye has many advantages like being closed to Europe and having good infrastructure."
The Consul of Italy in Izmir, Simon Carta has pointed that Trade volume between two countries in January-September period has grown 23% and made 15,3 billion $, and Aegean part in which is considerable.
