Izmir's Public Transportation is under Space Technology Control
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality leads a fleet - reinforced with air conditioned buses - from the center that works with satellite images; City Hall, by the way, becomes able to observe the buses in a lot of positions such as speed limit or period of waiting at the bus-stops.... through this Metropolitan Municipality raises the standards of public transportation.

Vital steps are being taken in the city regarding transportation such as;
- in progress projects of railway system
- underpass and overpasses which secure continuous traffic flow
- modern air conditioned buses, which number is increasing day by day

ESHOT Management that is a heart of city transportation, uses the high technology for its rising fleet and expansive catchment area.

All kinds of information purposed messages are sent to the driver from the Control Center and the drivers are able to send warnings by the buttons on front panel as well or ask for help.

Project Head of the Transportation Following Center - Bengül Tulgay emphasized that the charged staff of the center follow the signals during the day and communicate with drivers it its needed. Saying also that they evaluate the complaints; she added: they are able to control the departure and the speed of vehicles from the satellite. They know the speed and the driver information of each vehicle.

Information gathered in the center can also be used as a future plan - this is being a statistical data.
There is an appliance in the next stage: the citizens might be able to learn "how many minutes do they have to wait for the bus at the bus-stop." and people can be informed by SMS.

Center is also can be used as "crisis cener" in urgent cases.
