  First, consider the combination of the PERSON whom you're leading, and their COMPETENCE IN THIS SITUATION - in the task you'll ask them to perform, or the result you'll ask them to deliver.
  
  'Competence' (or lack of) is meant in its most neutral, objective, non-pejorative sense. Roger Federer is probably an incompetent actor, and Tom Hanks would be incompetent on Centre Court at Wimbledon. Those aren't insults or negative personal comments, merely detached observations about their ability to shine in that particular situation...
