How to get “out of the box”?
There is a saying: “if you do what you have done you’ll get what you got”

The walls of “the box” have been constructed by how we tend to think. When we repeat the same way of thinking over and over again we create a limited way of thinking, which is the box.

A “thinking box” is a pattern of thinking that we don’t control but it controls us. Although some patterns of thinking can be productive, they do tend to have a limiting influence upon our creativity.

To break out of the constraints of “box” way of thinking it is necessary to think different about basics.

What is meant by being “different” and what are “basics”?

Here are some examples of different thinking about basics:

    • If you tend to think short term-think long term

    • If you tend to think what is wrong about something-think what is good about it

    • If you tend to be too serious-think a bit lighter

    • If you tend to think too light-think a bit more serious

    • If you tend to worry too much-consciously let go of worries

    • If you tend to promise much and deliver a little-promise the same and deliver more

    • If you criticize people behind their back-speak good things behind their back

    • If you tend to talk a lot about yourself-make space for others to talk about themselves

As the examples above indicate, Thinking Out of the Box begins with what is called “attitude thinking”. Positive Thinking leads to creative ideas, where as negative thinking tends to block new ideas. Another words, attitude is the basis for creativity by which, we create ridgid boxes or form up fluent way of thinking.

Remember, we are the main builders of our box and therefore also know how to break through its constraints. The measure of success of “thinking out of the box” is when new opportunities open up.

However, when you succeed, try not to hold on to your success because you will create another box.

This is the story that never ends…
