Are there any DHL lean thinkers out there? Especially in the DHL Hub Leipzig or European Air Transport organisations? It would be great to make contact with you and discuss lean thinking @ DHL.

Hi Michael,
If the stakeholder, customer, is also welcome to participate and bring a fresh perspective
to the game, I would be highly interested to join in.
Let me know what is possible.
Best, Ralf

Hi Ralf.
My interest is focused on processes within the DHL airline (fleet planning, aircraft maintenance, spare-part logistics, network planning & control, crew planning etc) and within the Hub (the entire logistics, material flow and and sorting process from incoming aircraft to outgoing aircraft). These are processes which are critical to us for maintaining service quality but should be black boxes for the customer.
Viewing DHL from a customer's persprective (I am, of course, also a customer) the main thing that interests me is that my shipments arrive at their correct destination on time and that I don't have to pay too much for this service. "Nice to have" is also to be able to track my shipment and know how far it has got. Is it currently on a plane somewhere, is it in the hub, has it arrived in the target country or whatever. As a customer I am also interested in lean processes for consigning and for accepting delivery of shipments. It should be quick and easy for me to send a shipment and it should be simple and convenient for me to receive shipments.
These areas are, however, outside my scope as a DHL employee. Maybe we can find other DHL colleagues who would like to cover these aspects with you as a customer stakeholder?

Hi Michael,
Thanks a lot for your proposal. It makes sense to co-create the processes within the firm with the getters (customers) of the service or product. They have a gut feeling of what is happening (especially by a wide range of experience).
DHL could be one of the first movers in this field (especially in Germany) :-)
Cheers, Ralf
