  Linux System Administrator (m/f) wanted

  Datameer is looking for a System Administrator (m/f) with strong Linux skills for our office in Halle (Saale), Germany. We are a well-funded start-up in search of a dynamic candidate to taking on new tasks and responsibilities as we continue to grow.
  
  Datameer specializes in the analysis of large volumes of data for business users of Apache Hadoop. Our product is a business intelligence platform for Hadoop that enables data integration, analytics and data visualization including reports, charts and dashboards.
  
  Position Overview:
  - Building Linux images in AWS
  - Configuring Hadoop clusters
  - Building VMware images
  - Maintaining Apache Webservers
  - Everyday system administration tasks, e.g. creating and installing backups, supporting our software developers and QA team
  
  Experience and Requirements:
  - 5+ years experience as a Linux system administrator
  - Excellent Linux knowledge (multiple distributions)
  - Experience using package management systems
  - Basic database knowledge (MySQL, Oracle ...)
  - Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) is an asset
  - Experience in Shell (Bash) scripting, Python and Ruby
  - Basic knowledge of Java programming language
  - Experience using Atlassian software, e.g. Jira and Confluence
  - Hadoop basics are an advantage
  - Apache Webserver knowledge
  - A passion for Apple products
  - Eager to learn, highly engaged and committed to fulfilling tasks
  - Communicative, customer-orientated, and flexible
  - Good communication skills in both English and German
