Leading telecoms client require a Linux Administrator to join a team of 20 people working in their Data Centre Operations Team in Berlin. They are responsible for 3rd level support and operations for the Data Centre projects and the internal Data Centre IT infrastructure.
Specific responsibilities will include the installation and administration of Linux servers (mainly RHEL), installation and administration of Application Software (MySQL, Apache, Tomcat, etc), managing 3rd party hardware and software support, 3rd Level Support for Data Centre projects, on-call support and support for Sales/Presales – discuss and design projects.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience of administrating RHEL Linux operating systems on a high level (experience of other Unix operation systems or Windows would be beneficial), experience of administrating MySQL including replication, experience of administrating cluster solutions (Veritas VCS, DRBD), knowledge of standard Internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP), knowledge of monitoring applications and methods and experience of working with internationally based customers and service providers. It would also be beneficial to have experience of administrating Oracle DBs and of working in large Data Centres or Hosting Environments.
