Rainer MerklasThe company name is only visible to registered members.linux and me. thats a big book.05 Mar 2008, 2:27 pmIntroduction to my work and why i'm here...
the first time I got in touch with Linux was at that time where everybody went no nic.funet.fi usinf the IP-address and downloaded the source. I owned an amiga 2000 (a really brilliant computer). I had to download also an compiler for getting Linux started. It was a pretty funny time. Microsoft came up with Windows for Workgroups and and a brand new DOS. And there was OS/2 (which is at a german bank in use nowadays also)
According to my needs I went over for DOS. later I headed to windows and finally i had to use Solaris. When I founded my own business, i decided to use Linux. It was "cheaper" than MS-Products and it has a rock-solid base.
Now the time has arrived were I have to setup several boxes and to get them work together. I tested a lot of distros (CentOS, Fedora, Suse, Gentoo/Sabayon, debian, kubuntu). Right now i have to setup a box wich will host the ERP and the CRM of my company.
So what is better than merging the forum when using Linux in business. I hope I will get a lof of new ideas and different sights on this topic. Let's have a good day and evening enjoying Linx
