Another example for "We need to do Social Media!" marketeer trying to impress his or her boss, customer or the management. Not having a clue what this will bring besides some new followers, blog subscribers or fans on facebook. Not idea how those "relations" shall ever turn into full payment bookings. It does not bring anyone more often to London and certainly in the time of the tight regime of corporate travel policies not many business travelers are free to select the hotels they want - and certainly not in an expensive wild city like London.
My take: Wasted money, that will be used by another set of clueless folks to state "Web 2.0 marketing is growing and therefore: Don't miss it."

Thanks for your comments, Stephan. A bit better segmentation or demystification of the target audience could turn a campaign such as the one in question from a mediocre tactical one to a part of a longer term dialogue.
