At time of writing this some of you based in Australia or New Zealand are only hours away from 2009 while others based near the West Coast of USA are around 24 hours away from punching in to 2009.
In any event, I wish you a Happy and Prosperous New Year wherever you are.
New Year's resolutions are having a field day these days. Have you made yours yet?
I have. Some time ago in fact.
And one resolution relates to this group of more than 7.000 CMO's from more than 100 countries.
I would like to share my New Year's Resolution for "Marketingboss":
I WOULD LIKE TO UN-MUTE THE CMO'S OF THIS GROUP.
Research shows that only 12% of all New Year's resolutions are successful. (

But I am willing to go out on a limb on this one.
You see, when this group first started, I was absolutely positively convinced that the greatest value of a community of (CMO) peers would be the sharing of knowledge and expertise. But so far, we have seen far too little of that in our group.
I was also convinced that by allowing industry players such as agencies and other vendors to take part, the dialogue would be enhanced through their participation After all, they should have a strong interest in displaying their competencies, right?. But, alas, we have seen little contribution from the seller side.
So - please - help my co-moderators and I to get inside of the 12% and reap the grand rewards of social networking in the process.
Use the forum. Ask your questions, seek advice from your peers. Share your experiences and competencies. And remember, there are no dumb questions. Post your questions, comments, remarks or insights in your language of choice. I am sure someone will reply and take you up on your invitation to dialogue. But remember; it takes at least two to Tango.
Happy New Year - Let's get vocal in 2009
