Hello!
Let’s start with the following problem I got from a friend. I don’t have the answer yet, so perhaps it will remain unsolved, but I hope somebody is able to solve it.
My friend tries to find all pairs (x,y) of rational numbers, x unequal y, with the property:
x^y = y^x
It sounds a little bit like « Last Fermat’s theorem ».
Example:
4^2 = 2^4 (=16)
Is it the only possibility?
(Why? Why not?)
Best regards,
Winfried Weber
