    An Artistic Project...

JCI Amsterdam International is dedicating its flagship project to supporting the professional development of young artists from 40 countries. The core of the project will be to offer artists an exhibition space in the heart of Amsterdam in April 2007. Organized by JCI in order to raise funds for Unicef, this collective exhibition will give every artist the platform to promote his/her art beyond the borders of his/her country while contributing towards the welfare of the Worlds children.

The one-week exhibition will be a place of discovery. We aim to offer the visitors a panorama of talented artists in Modern Art. For this reason, the exhibition will be open to a large variety of artistic media.

The JCI network is active in 40 countries (Zone D - extended Europe). We are appealing to all our members to help us locally with encouraging artists applications.

In order to select the most talented artists, our team is currently working on the composition of the artistic committee, which will be made up of specialists in Modern Art (Art editors, Museum curators, gallery owners and collectors, among others). The role of the committee will be to shape the exhibition by ensuring the quality of the pieces on exhibition.

In exchange for the publicity that they gain via the exhibition, participating artists are asked to donate the piece of art which is most representative of his/her artistic development. The piece will be sold at the end of the exhibition week during of an auction led by Sothebys. The funds raised by the proceeds will be given to UNICEF to fund their Educational Program.

... for a Unicef Cause : Free Quality Primary Education for All Children
Over the last 60 years, Unicef has designed a wide range of programs to protect childrens basic rights, one of them being the right to Education. Since one of the pillars of our organization is Self Development, JCI is well aware of the necessity to offer children a field of opportunities via Education. For this reason, JCI Amsterdam International has decided to contribute to the UNICEF Education program.
As an example, in Bangladesh, thanks to the commitment of UNICEF, 1200 children aged between 8 and 14 have already received basic education. 300 children between the ages of 12 and 14 obtained a professional education.
In a country where 6 million children aged between 5 and 15 work instead of getting an education, there is still lot to be done - resources are needed.

So let's work together to make sure that all children get quality primary education. Contribute!
