Italy in NAFTA
Hello everybody:-)

BARILLA gains ground on American tables. In Avon, about 70 kms from Niagara Falls, the new American plant by the company from parma, italy has recently been inaugurated, joining the preexisting plants in Ames, Iowa.
The plant will employ 120 people and will produce yearly 50.000 tons of pasta to begin with - reaching 100.000 tons by 2009. The brand has become more and more popular and the U.S.A. is the second largest market after Italy.

FERRERO CANADA announced that it will expand production at its manufacturing plant, located in Brantford, Ontario. The company plans to invest a further $ 55 million in new technology to increase the production of its world famous confections - with nuts coming from the Black Sea Coast of Turkey. the Brantford plant, Ferrero's most important facility in North America, is also slated to become a Center of Excellence for the company.. Opened in 2006, Ferrero invested more than $ 300 million in the Brantford factory, which employs more than 600 full-time workers, rising over to 800 workers seasonaly. An additional 100 positions are to be created as part of the expansion plan.
