Asomugha's deal included a little-known clause that said his contract would void if he didn't achieve his not-likely-to-be-earned incentives in 2010 -- and he didn't.
His contract also contained a stipulation that if he didn't achieve his incentives, the Raiders would agree not to designate him their franchise or transition player.
...
To achieve his incentives, Asomugha had to play in a greater number of defensive plays in 2010 than he did in 2009, and this season Asomugha played in only 14 games whereas he played in all 16 in 2009.

WOW!!!! I'd suggest he simply crosses the Bay Bridge and has a long talk with Harbaugh & Baalke :-)
Now HE would really beef up our secondary...

Why Nnamdi Asomugha Could Turn the 49ers into a Contender
Asomugha would certainly bolster the weakest part of the San Francisco 49ers' secondary, and could immediately turn them into a strong contender in 2011.
...
Asomugha has been one of the game's more complete shutdown corners. Oakland's premier defensive back over the last eight years, Asomugha would come into the 49ers organization as their best corner since Deion Sanders in 1994.
he he, wie DAS ausgegangen ist wissen wir ja alle :-)))

Mike TheobaldThe company name is only visible to registered members.Nnamdi Asomugha is one of those rare defensive backs that can be considered a shut down corner. With his nearly $17 million contract with the Raiders now voided, Asomugha becomes a free agent and would solidify the weak 49ers secondary.18 Jan 2011, 6:25 pmRe^2: Asomugha unrestricted FA!!!
Asomugha played his college ball at Cal and has played his entire professional career in Oakland. If he wants to stay in the Bay Area, a trip across the bridge to San Francisco would be a welcome sight for the 49ers faithful.
Nnamdi Asomugha has been criticized for his lack of tackling on running plays but the same criticism was aimed at Deion Sanders in his prime. The bottom line is there are few cover corners as good as Asomugha. He has the ability to shut down one side of the field and take away the top receiver from the opposition.

Nnamdi Asomugha is one of the NFL's elite corners and an unrestricted free agent. That spells big bucks, but nobody's denying that he's worth it. He shuts down his whole side of the field and would make a great mentor for a guy like Ras-I Dowling if they get him.
