Here's the Chicago Tribune's take on the matchups in tonight's game:

Interesting read, but they only talk about Frank and VD, they seem to forget Crabtree and Hill (the WR)!
Funny article in the Sacbee:

Forget about the Chicago defensive line. Here is what Vernon Davis and the 49ers really need to destroy Thursday night:
Their own stupid mistakes.
Shouldn't be surprised. But as we approach the 49ers' first prime-time game of the season, the NFL circus is out in full force, pointing and yelling and focusing attention on all the wrong stuff. Yes, sentimentalists, this will indeed be Mike Singletary's first game as a head coach versus his old team. That would be meaningful if the Chicago Bears planned to aim their power running game directly toward the sideline where Singletary will be standing. The hunch here is, the Bears will instead run toward the goal line. <rotfl>
GO NINERS!!!
----
Well, only 1 Smith pick in the first half, which was really on Crabtree - Cutler had 2 which made all the difference: Brown 51 yrd from this pick, stopped near the endzone by ...
... Cutler ;-) Frank only had to run it in. He has a great day, they can't really stop him.
The Niners D has some problems with the Bears' TE'S, but otherwise they play great. And we lost another defender: Takeo out with hamstring :-(
HT: 7-3 Niners
btw. those are really nice pictures of The City from the aero-cam :-)
- 3rd Cutler-pick, this time by Goldson :-)
- Smith was lucky, had a pick which was called back by a Bears penalty...
- How dumb is it to run a sneak on 4th & inches??!? oc Smith didn't convert...
- 4th Cutler pick, this time by Roman
- Niners get 3 pts from the INT, had to settle for a FG in this battle of D's after a long Gore run - 10-6 Niners
- Cutler is makingsome real bad decisions today - he's nearly picked again by Pat on 3rd
- 23 yrd run by Gore, handover was from the gun (2nd time in a row)
- what a thriller! Cutler picked off by Lewis in the endzone on his last throw with 4 secs on the clock!!!
Which goes to show: he is no Favre <rotfl>
Niners win a great battle of defenses 10-6 with 5 Cutler picks :-) Gore had 105 yards, btw
Let's see if they can do the same next week @ Lambeau...

;-) The only game plan was devised by Vernon Davis, who set out to inspire the 49ers by talking trash about the Bears during the week, and coming back with more just before the game when he and Bears' defensive end Adewale Ogunleye exchanged words on the field. What did Ogunleye say?
"He didn't say anything to me - I said something to him," Davis said. "I told him to get ready 'cause we're coming at him. I wanted to get my team fired up. ... As a leader, I know how to fire my team up."
