Well, waiting for the late game I'm watching MIA@NE:
another very nice TD from the Wildcat on 4th & 1 :-)
-----
Well, finally the Niners open it up a bit more and go with 3 and 4 receiver sets with Alex in the gun. Works good so far, they convert much more 3rds than before. They also use Frank as a receiver much more - as I'm suggesting
since 3 weeks - and he is very effective on the flips and screens. Gore caught seven passes for 75 yards, and ran for 86 yards on 15 carries.
Jason Hill played a great game, he should get the nod. And Bruce is finished, he starts to become a liability...
The Niners D just couldn't get a handle on Chris Johnson who burned them again and again for long runs and 2 TD's. Also I don't know why they played prevent in the 3rd and 4th quarter, but it was a bad idea and gave the Titans' receivers a few long receptions - inexcusable :-(
#52 was effective like always, but he can't make it happen alone. He had a lot of very crucial stops, the most important of them in the 4th on a scramble of Young on 3rd. The Niners are now very thin defensively with Brown being the 2nd corner out in two weeks as well as S Michael Lewis out.
Alex scrambled a few times and converted an important 3rd down on a 9 yrd run. He had 2 fumbles for losses and 3 picks, though - the second and 3rd at a very crucial time in the 4th, being down 20-24 and 20-27 - again!!! The Titans scored 24 points on those turnovers!
I've been saying it for 3 years now: this fu**ing Smith will NEVER be an NFL quarterback! Get rid of this bust already and let Hill play - he doesn't look so exciting, but at least HE WINS GAMES, the only thing Smith does is LOSING GAMES!!! He makes bad decisions in crucial situations all the time - this team deserves better, all those guys play their asses off and #11 loses one game after another singlehandedly. On second thought, with our season essentialy over again, let this Nate Davis kid play and show what he's able to do...
Well, we have 2 first round picks in the next draft - I've said it a lot of times now: get Tebow!!!
From a fan on the Chronicle blog Niners Insider:
Question: If you didn't watch the game, How can you tell whether Alex played?
Answer: The entire opposing DB squad owns a game ball to take home with them.
another comment:
you know, what makes things so unbearable is that a few mediocre players totally ruin the valiant efforts of all the other first rate talent that we have.
and another <rotfl>:
The Guinness Book of Records contacted Goodell and wants to know if Alex is planning on breaking the INT record for a 4 game stretch so they can include the entry in next year's edition
another:
As for Alex Smith as QB, let me remind you of what Bill Walsh once said about Steve DeBerg: "He plays just well enough for you to lose." This is the 3rd game in a row where Alex Smith could have led a drive to win the game in the last two minutes, but two quick interceptions ended that. What you see is what you get.

Can somebody make Michael Strahan stop singing in this Subway commercial already...

At least the Bolts won in a great game against the G-Men - sorry Denny, obviously I know exactly how you feel after the 4th loss in a row...
