NLP, what is it good for... for fighting personal demons or...?
I heard the abbreviation NLP for the first time about 6 or 7 years ago when I attended a 2-year course “Psychological Therapist”. Unfortunately, books about NLP were the only source back then where I could find any additional information. There were no NLP trainers in my town, let alone NLP courses.

But this year, NLP has been brought to my attention again through a number of accidents (though people say that there are no accidents, everything has its purpose and I even start believing this!).

To cut a long story short, I started attending a one-year NLP-Practitioner course in Bochum in November this year. My trainer is Mea Voß, who is a certified NLP Trainer and Systematic Coach to the standards of DVNLP. This course consists of 5 modules. Each of them lasts 5 consecutive days from Wednesday till Sunday, except for the very first one. The first module is some kind of introduction into this delicate matter of NLP and lasts 4 days. And, believe me: each module is literally packed with information. And what I like most about this course is that we don’t only learn theory, but we also practice every new technique in small groups of three alternatively playing the role of a client, coach and observer. I have attended 2 modules so far and look forward for the next to come.

I personally find NLP extremely exciting because it has a lot to do with the language. I am especially interested in this aspect because I have a BA and an MA in Linguistics; it’s a professional interest. I used to think that NLP mostly helps people to fight their personal “demons”, but now I see that this is just a very small part what NLP can do for you.

You can read more about it in my article in SKYLIGHT-Blog: http://www.skylight-online.com/en/dialogue/blog/blog-einzela...
