Good morning and happy new year!
My name is Rachel Zedeck. I am the Managing Director of Medea Group Limited. Our project development in Juba next year is focused on developing commercial agriculture initiatives in coordination with the newly established Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS) and Ministry of Agriculture.
The Medea Group vision is to empower commercial, governmental and non-profit organizations with unique knowledge to make critical decisions, leverage opportunities and minimize risk in conflict or post-conflict regions. We are actively designing and implementing commercial and capacity building development projects infused with CSR methodologies in conflict and post-conflict regions such as South Sudan. Medea Group is actively working to import commercial investment (FDI) into southern Sudan, including initiatives grounded in Agricultural development in order to attract large organic farms into the region initially utilizing off-season growing programs. We are actively developing the launch of the "Suganic" brand. This initiative could represent both commercial business development while actively supporting the resettlement of up to 50,000 refugees underwritten with additional micro finance initiatives coordinated with UNIDO and World Bank. To accomplish these goals and the realistic skills of the local population, we plan to leverage the implementation of both low and high tech farming systems.

I am interested to learn if anyone in this group is working with organic outsourcing, manufacturing, purchasing, etc...
I would like to leverage a targeted but small group of experts and advocates this type of project development in post conflict communities rather than focusing on a much more contested commodity like oil.
I look forward to hearing from any of you who are interested in learning more about our project.

Racheal,
Interesting post.
I am interested in this group as a person who get different fruits every year from our family property located in the mountains in northern Pakistan. We get almonds, walnuts, apricots, grapes, apples, cherry and other fruits.
We also have corn crops.
I am looking to learn about growing different types of fruits and how to protect them against natural diseases.
Low tech farming techniques.
How is your project going in Sudan ? what about Somalia ?
bye,
Asad Wali Khan.
