EIK: Service - Gourmet experience - Price
    Hello everybody,

I see that nobody has started any thread in this section, so I will... and so in English as restaurant tips in Oslo may be more useful for visiting persons than for the blasé locals :)

My recommendation for a gourmet experience with an efficient service and a reasonable price (for Norway!!!!) in a modern (but not cold) environment:

    Restaurant EIK - Universitetsgata 11- 0164 Oslo

(and its bar if you need to wait for your table - it's safer to make a reservation).

They are able to keep reasonable prices (I repeat, for Norway!) by offering only one menu per week. There are five dishes and you can choose a three or a five-course meal (smaller portions so you don't get so full). In addition to the courses listed on the menu, you are served small mis-en-bouche before and between each dish. If you are drinking, it is usually a good idea to go for their wine menu with a glass of different wine for each course. Everything smells, looks and tastes good. And everything you are eating is explained in details by a friendly staff :) Those who enjoy having their eyes and taste buds stimulated will like it.

    Bon appétit!
