  Hello,
  
  After noticing that the oldest and one of the most endeared Linux distros of the Open Source community didn't have a group, or for that matter, any representation at all. We asked Xing if they could create the group for us - and they did!
  
  The direct link is: http://Xing.com/net/slackware
  
  Anyone with an interest in Open Source technologies, Linux, and Personal or Enterprise computing in general is welcome and encouraged to join.
  
  We intend on providing the most in purely Slackware specific, Linux in general, and FOSS related events for our announcement calendars, and boy... we could sure use some help getting the group off the ground too :)
  
  I know that many of you here use Slackware everyday, either as your workstation, or when you require a rock solid enterprise base for high availability.
  
  The slackware Linux Team works hard to keep all software as vanilla and unpatched as possible - the way the upstream developers intended their software to be distributed, and to a large degree, that accounts for Slackware's legendary performance and stability.
  
  We've only just begun as far as building the group is concerned, but one thing we can do right off the bat is to provide a place here at Xing where people can go to for quick pointers to Open Source Slackware resources, be it mirrors, HowTos, Tutorials, and even support questions.
  
  We even maintain an RSS feed in the group for the official Slackware support forums, so you can see what's going on with just a glance at any given moment.
