Prevailing Winds. Paintings, stories and a blog
I paint, I write and this union has resulted in a blog titled Prevailing Winds.

The work is stories/writings that look at curiosities of life, love, death, and the beyond. These stories are paintings but first they are written on the blog where they are accompanied with thoughts and observations which stray in various directions.

I look in to look out to find ways to put across who we might be. The ludicrous state we have got the planet into is no suprise if you think how we treat ouselves, part of which is in many cases the denial of our center. I see art as a probe into life, therefore a probe into the soul. We are just part of the landscape, not the landscape.

This work as a triptych, the writing/story, the painting, the blog, I hope you enjoy it.

Yes, maybe in essence it's not poetry but it's poetic.

Although my writing has out paced the paintings, the aim of the story/writing is for it to be painted onto canvas with sometimes a suggestion of a landscape by the use of a few lines. Using words in paintings is different to using stories and I am finding my writings present their own problems. The written word easily comes across as a fact or a statment but with a good painting the image will seem somehow different every time it's seen as it touches on an infinity.

    Very best
