Coming to eat at Vivezza Restaurant in London is a very pleasurable experience. I sat there for hours, looking out the window, at the bright lights of London and watching the traffic as it peacefully whirred past outside. The waiters and waitress then put a decorative candle on each table and dimmed the main lights of the restaurant, so that you could dine in the lovely, romantic ambience of an exquisite, charming restaurant in London.
I then had some of the lovely food: sumptuous Tortelloni Della Casa, which was soft Tortelloni pasta filled with tender, succulent meats in a tangy tomato sauce. Then to finish I had a hot, creamy double expresso coffee with five home made, crisp, crunchy biscuits of three different varieties.
This is not all that’s on offer though: a succulent Halibut steak cooked to your choice or tender slices of sirloin beef on a crispy bed of rocket with moist cherry tomatoes.
Vivezza however is famous for its truffles. ‘La Fontana’ restaurant, which previously stood on the same spot and for years, was the foremost truffle restaurant in London. now has given way to a new restaurant: Restaurant Vivezza.
The Truffle menu has been designed specially for the short white Truffle season, which runs from October to December, with beauties on it like Venison Carpaccio with white Truffle or a white Truffle risotto. For a table choosing this exceptional Truffle menu Vivezza is happy to offer a fine and suitable bottle of wine with manager Miguel’s compliments.
There are 10 species of Truffle found in Italy. The white truffle, or ’Magnatum Pico’, is gathered in Alba and it is by far the most rare and most expensive. It grows amongst the roots of oak, willow, hazelnut and poplar trees. Truffle hunters harvest them at night with dogs specially trained to sniff out the underground treasure. The aroma is very enticing particularly when the truffle is shaved over pasta, risotto or meats. It is also famously regarded as an aphrodisiac.
There are wonderful dishes on this menu such as medallions of tender beef fillet with white truffles or perhaps have a crunchy, tasty veal escalop with enticing white truffles.
I would highly recommend restaurant Vivezza as the best Italian restaurant in London. It is a must visit for all those Italian food lovers. It is conveniently located at 101 Pimlico Road, London SW1P 8PH. It is near to Victoria coach station and only a short walk from Sloane Square. It lies on the border of the two boroughs Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster.
It’s sister restaurant ‘Caraffini’, about a two-minute walk away on Lower Sloane Street, is invariably full every night and lunchtime with business people and busy shoppers as well as many local Chelsea residents.
Vivezza hope you can join us for either lunch or dinner. We do ask that you please book. Just phone on 0207 7300202 or email info@vivezza,co.uk
