International Association of Advanced MBAs

The Association of Advanced Dual Degree MBAs, Attorneys and Physicians (AAMA) is dedicated to supporting MBAs, attorneys and medical doctors who possess advanced interdisciplinary professional credentials in science, engineering, economics or medicine at the doctoral level, i.e. a PhD degree. The AAMA aims to enhance the global professional profile - and market value - of advanced MBAs, attorneys (JDs) and doctors (MDs) by providing an environment conducive to networking among MBA-, JD- and MD-holders with advanced doctoral training, as well as with corporate recruiters and the career placement offices of leading business, engineering, medical and law schools around the globe. Current MBA-, JD- and MD-holders with doctoral qualifications must now rely exclusively on large MBA, JD and MD groups - which generally cater to, and are designed for, candidates with supplemental Bachelors or Masters degrees - that do not often recognize and understand the particular needs and contributions of advanced dual degree MBAs, JDs and MDs. The AAMA seeks to address this imbalance by providing this segment of the wider international MBA, JD and physician community with its own networking and professional development platform. Persons with an MBA, a JD, an MD, as well as those who possess an MBA-JD or one of the above degrees, and who are studying towards the second, are welcome to request membership in the AAMA.

Holders of German Diplom-Betriebswirt, Diplom-Kaufmann/frau, Diplom-Volkswirt, Diplom-Wirtschaft, Diplom-Oekonom, Diplom-Finanz or Diplom-Jurist degrees are also welcome to join, as are individuals possessing an Executive MBA (EMBA). Career planning and placement officers and faculty at business schools and schools of science, engineering, medicine and law are invited to join as associate members. Executive recruiters may also find this group of interest and benefit.

The AAMA should be of particular interest to persons working in the following fields: technology commercialization, licensing and transfer; intellectual property management; venture capital, incubators, angel and seed funding; startup companies and entrepreneurship; strategy and strategy consulting; finance and banking; innovation management and policy; advanced research and development; futures studies; business development; international economic development; and joint ventures and strategic alliances.

It is expected that the AAMA will become a cutting edge community for networking and exchange between leading researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs; angel and venture financiers; commercialization and strategy experts; and scientists, engineers, senior health care managers, doctors and attorneys around the world.
