The negotiations for the ACTA treaty are conducted behind closed doors and are not part of any international organization.

Hi Benedikt,
that sounds very strange to me...here are some additional data:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/news/public/story_page/026-705...
(also in german language available;)
Find here:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/sides/getDoc.do?pubRef=-//EP//...
a written declaration, "pursuant to Rule 123 of the Rules of Procedure on the lack of a transparent process for the Anti-Counterfeiting TradeAgreement (ACTA) and potentially objectionable content." Funny the very words "potentially objectionable content"...
But on the other hand I found some brandnew "Consolidated Text prepared for Public Release" published by the European Trade Commission:
http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2010/april/tradoc_1460...
and also some Q&A, also published by them:
http://trade.ec.europa.eu/doclib/docs/2009/january/tradoc_14...
Could you tell me, who - in detail - is carrying on the negotiations in these 38 mentioned countries? The ministry of economics of each country? The Board of Trade, something like that? Trade associations? This is what I didn't get...
Kind regards,
Christine
