Introduction of eDarling (Berlin, Germany)
Hello everybody,

my name is David Khalil, I am from Berlin/Germany and one of the founders and managers of the Affinitas GmbH, the company managing the platform http://www.edarling.de. 2009 our company was one of the fastest growing internet companies in Europe. Today eDarling is active in seven European countries, managing all the business from the headquarters in Berlin with about 120 employees working with a lot of motivation and under personal responsibility in order to improve our service every day. In only one year, eDarling has become one of the leading online dating enterprises in Europe. eDarling caters to sophisticated singles who are looking for a successful, long-term relationship. Our scientific approach to matchmaking is based on an extensive personality questionnaire which enables us to identify the compatibility of our couples. Affinitas GmbH is financed by venture capital of successful investors like Holtzbrinck Venture GmbH, the Investment Bank Berlin Brandenburg (IBB) and eHarmony Inc.

At the moment we are looking for a Senior Database Developer in order to support our high class IT team. As our Database Developer you are managing the conception, development and the operation of a distributed database infrastructure. Moreover you are coordinating together with the developing team the ideal access strategies for the datasets in the customer and data warehouse databases. In addition the following tasks will be yours:
-Working on your own responsibility in all phases of the software development
-Co-design and further development of a platform based upon the latest technologies
-Performance analysis, database system design, set-up and operation of a data warehouse

If you are interested in this position we would require the following skills/experience:
-Completed technical degree and/or comparable job training
-Minimum of 5 year project experience in the field of database development and design
-Substantiated knowledge in ER-design, SQL-databases like PostgreSQL or Oracle
-Very good skills in SQL and in the development of Stored Procedures with plpgsql or PL/SQL
-Open und proactive style of communication
-Creativity, flexibility and capacity for team work
-Commitment, motivation and initiative
-Very good English or German skills
