Rajmohan JanarthanamThe company name is only visible to registered members.A newbie to BI
Hi all,
To start with, am a SAS professional worked on Phase trials handling TLGs and creation of datasets and developed code on adhoc basis. Recently have been involved in Data management and Pharmacokinetics for equivalence trials. During this time, I was intuited with BI concept and its architecture for data analytics which spin around different platforms efficiently. But I had always the interest to learn more insights of BI integration and developed basic knowledge of its entity across the systems used in practice.
I consider joining this group as a wonderful opportunity for me to acquire the desired knowledge from well renowned industry experts in the group.
Also have plans to start up an online database in the life sciences domain with BI integrated to envisage a knowledge driven and technology oriented directory.
I would be glad to know if anyone could provide me some valuable inputs on the implementation of BI for a small business and commenting on the prerequisites required for doing such business with highlights on marketing strategies too.
Many thanks once again.
RJ

Also have plans to start up an online database in the life sciences domain with BI integrated to envisage a knowledge driven and technology oriented directory. Most if not all knowledge in the life sciences is not available in a form that allows it to be directly used, You might want to look up the Biomint project, where we were trying to build a system to capture this knowledge from biological research papers. Generally, BI is not a good framework for such a complex goal, as it is far too narrow.

Dear Dr. Alexander K. Seewald
Dear Dr.
Thanks for your reply. Sorry for my belated reply to your post. I have visited the Biomint project webpage that you have mentioned and personally find it as a very knowledgeable source of database to handle complex biological information.
But am interested towards having a database of pharma and other health sector profiles that would facilitate prospective niche business parternships and other tools for building an inevitable source of information to the clients.
To add more would like to incorporate BI packages for business tie ups and mergers for partnerships and targeting core areas of market segments in life sciences.
Best Regards,
RJ
