  Vladescu: Taxation system and public administration need total re-thinking

  "The taxation system and the public administration need a complete reform rather than mere adjustments, Finance Minister Sebastian Vladescu stated in Vienna, on Wednesday. He pointed out that improving the taxation system is not enough to reach 35-36 per cent GDP budget revenue, for which reason it has to be re-thought in its entirety.
  
  In Vladescu’s opinion, the public administration also needs in-depth reforming also including a change of mentality, a good thing for the future of the country. He said no government decision had been made in that respect, but that his personal vision was that, in 2010 and 2011, Romania would become a nice surprise in terms of EU money spending rates."
  
  About time, I would add, that someone leading the Finance Ministry takes a stand about reforming the taxation system. Do you believe it is going to happen this time? I mean, a real reform, not just a name change?
