Hello Rugby Fans,
I have just completed my XING Profile and already found a "Rugby Group". F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C
Since an internship in South Africa in 2006 I have become totally hooked by this sport. I didn't miss any of the TRI Nations or Super 14 match . It was wonderful to get together in front of the TV or pub and watch your favorite team play. Watching the Springboks against Scotland in Port Elisabeth stadium was an absolute height.
Back in Germany trying to get my regular Rugby dose wasn't so easy than in the Southern Hemisphere. In Brussels it was easy to find a proper Rugby Pub-even in crawling distance to my flat ;-) The French are really crazy about Rugby as well. If you are in Brussels stop by at the "Bok and Dragon" (Rue du Noyer)!
Some of you may know RugbyChannel? Via the Internet there is the option to pay per view but the quality-at least on my Laptop- is lousy and just not comparable to watching a match in a pub.
How/Where do you watch your Rugby?
Best regards,
Cheers,
Christian

Hi,
Sky Television is boadcasting the Heineken Cup. Additonally you have BBC (UK) , Setanta (Ireland), FR2 (France) and S4C (Wales) to watch the national leagues. I dont know if you guys in Germany can connect to these channels on a private basis, but I am sure that there is a pub which is showing Rugby.
Greetings from good olf Eire

Hi,
I guess I could order some kind of package on "SKY Sport" but this means signing a contract for at least a couple of months. It's more fun watching in a pub and spending the money on a couple of beers and bags of lay's ;-)
So I am gonna keep on watching out for a proper location...
Besides, how are the Irish preparations going for next year's lion's tour? Both Ireland and Wales rather disappointed at the World Cup in France. Though Wales has come back strong since then seeming ready to tackle bigger tasks, aren't they?
The Springboks are going through rather confusing times again being not sure whether they are going to play with the Springbok Emblem on the jersey in the future or not. But I suppose for the Lion's Tour they will be playing as Springboks still.
Best regards
Cheers

DSF apparently did intend to show some of the World Cup games, but they were either replaced without any prior warning or cut short. The best example was showing the first 60 mins of one of the Wales games, then switching for the climax to some pre-game chat about basketball.
If you want to watch some rugby, the best bet is to go to your local rugby club - they will be pleased with any additional support they can get - you may even want to get roped in, either as player, organiser, whatever ....
Otherwise, one of the better websites is:
http://www.totalrugby.de/
which is quite up to date on all happenings in German rugby, whether it be national team, or any of the national or regional leagues.
Enjoy

Hi, I am new to the forum....I can not comment on rugby on tv in Germany, but you can get free streams for most games, in good quality online.
There are a number of sites depending on which games you'd like to see. If you ever want to see a particular game, Id suggest you post a request and/or check the munsterfans rugby forum (
http://www.munsterfans.com) . You will often find a thread like this one (
http://www.munsterfans.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15807&a...) with suggested online links, or if you cant find the game you like, open a new thread and ask for one!
